Come Out of Your Shell

This week’s guest post comes to us from Diane Reeves, and it is a powerful reminder that we do not walk alone.

“To remain hidden in our shells for fear of our weaknesses being exposed is a strategy from the enemy that isolates and imprisons.” Vulnerability can be scary but it is also rewarding. 1 Corinthians 12:12-27 reminds us that we were designed for authentic togetherness.

Be Still

Today I will be sharing a poem by John Roedel. Recently I was asked about my ‘creative process,’ something I never expected to be asked. Each morning I prioritize spending time with God and pray that He leads me to whatever it is that I’m going to share with you through this movement. He finally led me to this poem, and it turned out to be something I needed to hear.

This One

This week’s guest post comes to us from Diane Reeves, and it is a poem titled “This One.”

Each morning you open my eyes / You help me to see / A brand new start / You purify my heart

As we walk through the door of a brand new day / I am not sure what’s ahead / But I know I am being led

Coco

Then, one evening just before her bedtime prayer, the youngest daughter again asked what it would take for them to finally get a puppy. The Father gave a full list of details, a list so impossible he knew it would never happen. Plus, he was confident he would not have a change of heart.

Heard

God hears your call when you feel alone or just don’t know what to do next. Whether it’s a whisper for help or a song of praise, He hears you. What’s even more amazing is your Father hears every beat of your heart and listens for every breath you take. Without words even spoken He hears you.

Running on Fumes

We were simply not created to give 300% so why do we keep striving to achieve an unrealistic definition of perfection?

We allow the world to define who we should be as women, mothers, wives, daughters, and even Christians. Beyond that we forget the importance of spending time with God and making time for ourselves. So what can we do to make sure we are not running on fumes?

He Sings Over Me

Guest post by Maria Gibilisco

The Lord your God is with you, The Mighty Warrior who saves. He will take great delight in you; in His love He will no longer rebuke you, but will rejoice over you with singing.” — Zephaniah 3:17 NIV

It was 2012, everything in my life that could be shaken was being rocked with a ferocity that threatened to break me. It was then that God used a friend who gave me a card with the above verse written in it. Zephaniah 3:17 instantly became a significant and lasting source of encouragement to me.
